See full screen imageThis well known photo of Swami Venkatesananda, taken at a yoga retreat (advance) in Grass Valley, California at Swami Vishnu's Yoga Farm is perhaps best known as the photograph on the cover of Swami Venkatesananda's book entitled "Vigilance." It's one of many engaging photos of Swami Venkatesananda taken by Ganga White, some of which appear here in this album.

See full screen imageWhen asked for a photograph for the cover of the paperback version of the book "Yoga," published by Chiltern Yoga Trust. Swami Venkatesananda agreed to have a formal photograph taken, and asked Joan Hyman if she would agree to take this photograph. Although Swami Venkatesananda agreed to pose for the camera many times, this still remains one of the few formal portraits that we have of Swami Venkatesananda sitting in meditation with his eyes open.
